Museum Attendants assist visitors at museums and provide information and directions and perform routine security activities to ensure the safety of visitors and protect exhibits.
Duties of the Museum Attendant II position at the Nevada State Museum, Division of Museums and History/Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs in Las Vegas, NV primarily involve interacting with the public at the Museum's front desk. This position serves as the first touchpoint a customer has with the museum and our brand and must project a positive, welcoming attitude. The Museum Attendant II opens and closes the Museum, assists visitors throughout the day, and maintains visitor statistics and surveys. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience working with the public both in person and on the telephone, which included operating a personal computer, providing information and preparing routine correspondence; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
Working weekends and/or holidays is required.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Working a Rotating/Flexible Schedule is required.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
