Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

This Licensed Psychologist 1 position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services at Desert Regional Center in Las Vegas. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. Desert Regional Center (DRC) provides services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and related conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Seizure Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, etc. There are many opportunities for creative intervention at DRC depending on the psychologists particular areas of interest.
The primary position duties will be to provide supportive clinical services in our Children's Unit. These services include behavioral consultations, direct clinical services, child advocacy, and updated psychological assessments as needed as well as clinical leadership in multidisciplinary meetings. Many of our youth with developmental disabilities have co-occurring mental illnesses requiring intensive and knowledgeable supports.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Some positions require work on evenings, weekends and holidays. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
