The Position
Audiovisual Technicians install, repair, and maintain audiovisual equipment.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Audiovisual Technician 2 for the Teaching and Learning Technologies Department. The incumbent will diagnose and rectify operational and technical problems; provide operational user support, train on classroom-based technologies and direct production support for video conference technologies; install and maintain classroom technologies and facilities; and other duties as assigned.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with some flexibility; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of full-time experience performing the repair and maintenance of audiovisual, electronic or telemedia equipment; OR one year of experience as an Audiovisual Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    The schedule for this position can vary based on the needs of the organization.
    This position requires lifting up to 75 pounds above the head.
    This position requires stooping and squatting into small spaces and climbing on ladders to reach ceiling locations.
    This position requires experience working with audio/visual equipment.
    This position requires experience with conferencing technologies.
    This position requires having a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
