JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Economists prepare and conduct research, analysis and studies of economic, social, fiscal and other factors in
relation to topic of study.
This position is in the Health Information Technology and Predictive Analytics Unit at the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy. The incumbent will develop econometric models and predictive analytics to forecast trends in utilization and costs; use statistical analysis to examine enrollment, service provision, and payment trends of participating providers; identify potential cost-savings and program improvements; analyze data to stratify populations by risk and identify target groups for intervention; produce reports and analysis to guide date decision making to improve program efficiency, improve client health, and operate in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, labor economics, econometrics, statistics or a related field and two years of professional experience in conducting statistical/economic data collection, analysis and research involving the application of advanced statistical, mathematical and economic principles and research modeling; OR one year of experience as an Economist I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
Experience working as an econometrician.
Experience with STATA, SAS, or other software for statistical analysis.
