The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This position works within the Department of Education, located in Carson City, NV. The main purpose of this position is to ensure the State has a fully developed delivery system for programs and services to support: adult learners; English language learners; students enrolled in Adult High School Diploma programs; and high-school equivalency candidates. The duties carried out by this position include, but are not limited to: providing leadership and technical assistance for the development and continuance of high-quality adult high school diploma programs; monitoring and providing technical assistance to all funded adult high school diploma programs, including those in correctional facilities; providing leadership and technical assistance to and monitoring alternative education programs; providing state administration for all funding provided to adult high school diploma programs, including monitoring of local agency budgets and expenditures; preparing annual reports for adult high school and alternative education programs, as needed; collaborating with and serving as the department liaison with the Department of Corrections and the school districts providing adult high school diploma and alternative education programs; providing student outcome reports and other statistics and data about adult high school and alternative education programs, as needed; coordinating the application process for distance education and monitoring agencies for compliance with related statutes and regulations; as well as serving as the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) liaison to Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG).

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Requirements
    Positions require statewide travel.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Skills Required
    Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and managing Excel databases.
