The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
*THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED* Duties may include the following: Receiving and responding to requests and inquiries from students, scheduling meetings and accurately documenting meeting minutes, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, processing payroll, serving as P-card liaison/performing P-card reconciliation, managing and maintaining all accreditation and affiliation documents, scheduling staff trainings, managing electronic work schedules, preparing written correspondence, completing and managing all work orders for maintenance and IT, providing administrative assistance with recruitments and serving as point of contact for applicants, preparing contracts and travel documents, purchasing office and clinic maintaining all employee personnel and credentialing files, organizing and maintaining policies/procedures in an electronic document management system, assisting with compilation of statistical data and completion of reports, and providing training and supervision of student worker(s). This position may also assist, as needed, with providing clerical assistance at outreach events. This position is expected to adhere to all policies and procedures, and adhere to all departmental, university, state, and federal rules and regulations and accreditation standards as they pertain to employment. This position also requires knowledge of common computer programs and ability to learn and operate new systems, such as document management system and electronic patient schedules; strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with students, job applicants, colleagues and supervisors; strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple job duties effectively; and exceptional customer service skills. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some variability as needed depending on work demands. EEO/AA/Vet/Disability Employer.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
