Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for Administrative Assistant I located in Elko, NV. Elko is a growing, progressive small City with an exceptional quality of life. With some of the most majestic views in Nevada and an abundance of recreational activities, Elko is an outdoor paradise! The position performs general office duties which include answering telephone and inquiries about services provided by DCFS; data entry; provides high quality customer service; provides administrative support to all department staff; maintains confidentiality and privacy of client information.
This is a full time position with an anticipated work schedule of 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
