The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned.
This position will be working within the Department of Administration within Enterprise IT Services (EITS) in Carson City. This position will be a member of the team responsible for supporting the enterprise application suite, focused on Operating System (OS) and key 3rd party software patches, enterprise software delivery and enterprise server monitoring. Additionally, the position will be responsible for ongoing support and operational maintenance of the enterprise environment under general guidance.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    Must be able to carry no more than 75 pounds.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience in Windows systems and Active Directory.
    Experience in working with critical production systems.
    Experience in performing systematic troubleshooting of a technical issue.
    Experience in enhanced communications / documentation deliverable.
The Examination
