Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
The incumbent will work as a temporary employee for the Department of Motor Vehicles, in a student internship capacity. Work assignments will vary as the intern progresses in class standing.
This position is located in Carson City. The emphasis of this internship is to train individuals to perform duties as follows: advanced journey level application developer for the Department's various applications, analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer systems, databases, applications and/or information security. Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or the equivalent and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.
Special Notes
Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
This is a part time position that will work 18 to 20 hours a week.
A copy of your transcripts showing current enrollment in a college or university in the desired field of study must be attached to your application at the time of submittal. Failure to attach your transcripts will result in denial of your application.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
