The Position
Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This Health Care Coordinator (HCC) 1 position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services in the WIN Waiver/Community Based Care Program. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. This position serves as case manager within the Aging and Disability Services Divisions Community Based Care Programs, Physically Disabled Waiver Program providing case management to the physically disabled and frail elderly deemed most at risk for imminent placement in a nursing home through the Medicaid waivers, Personal Attendant Services (PAS) and COPE programs. These services also allow recipients to remain in their homes and maintain that independence.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Professional licensure or certification as a social worker, nurse or in a medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada at the time of appointment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty as a condition of continuing employment.
Travel up to 50% of the time is required.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
