JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
*THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.* This position will be responsible for processing financial activities necessary for the UNLV Department of Police Services to operate efficiently and effectively on all campus properties including police sub-stations. This includes but is not limited to: processing payroll, maintaining leave, preparing and tracking all purchases for goods and services from inception to payment (including procurement card purchases), preparing and maintaining financial logs and files, processing interdepartmental requests, preparing employment documents, and making travel arrangements. The position requires strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills as well as an orientation towards providing excellent customer service to the public. It is preferred that the incumbent be knowledgeable and efficient in the following programs and software: Advantage, Data Warehouse, MUNIS, iLeave, and Microsoft applications. The successful candidate will be expected to work Monday through Friday, 8 hour shifts during normal business hours. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of technical personnel/payroll experience; OR one year of experience as a Personnel Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
