JOB INFORMATION

Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
--The University of Nevada School of Medicine is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 - Residency Coordinator for Las Vegas. The incumbent will perform duties related to planning and coordinating academic and operational activities of the residency program in conjunction with the Program Director. The incumbent will prepare and maintain academic and administrative records on resident physicians; update and maintain resident/fellow forms and records; coordinate, track, and report rotations, yearly schedules, monthly rotation, electives and assignments by service; compile statistical data; plan and coordinate annual retreats; maintain residency library and website; coordinate graduation requirements; take meeting minutes; assist with budgets; coordinate recruitment of residents; and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, an ability to prioritize, and have excellent computer skills.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
