The Position
Employee Development Managers and Training Officers analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, manage and coordinate training and development for a department, division or a geographic region of a department's statewide training function and supervise and/or conduct sessions for vocation and/or skills training in specific occupational areas and general management development.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is seeking a Training Officer for our division Information Technology office located in Las Vegas, NV. Training Officer responsibilities include: providing training to groups or individuals for DCFS software applications in classroom or online (webinar) settings; maintaining training schedule and training technical environments; developing and maintaining application training curriculum; supporting software deployments by planning training efforts and writing and/or updating user-oriented documentation, user manuals, and application help files; and creating demo videos to support online user-oriented documentation and application training curriculum. This position is a key member of the IT systems development team and actively participates in system development projects.
This is a full-time position with anticipated work schedule of Mon- Fri that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or related field and two years of experience in the adult training process which includes experience planning programming, coordinating and conducting adult training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
