The Position
THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE POSTED CLOSING DATE DEPENDING ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Under general supervision, positions in this class serve as a training and curriculum coordinators for state agencies; develop, deliver, and coordinate training programs; and coordinate and monitor the activities of contracted trainers. The Training Officer I will: Provide training to groups or individuals for DCFS software applications in classroom or online (webinar) settings. Maintain training schedule and training technical environments. Develop and maintain application training curriculum. Support software deployments by planning training efforts and writing and/or updating user-oriented documentation, user manuals, and application helpfiles. Create demo videos to support online user-oriented documentation and application training curriculum. Participate in system development projects.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff committed to building strong communities through strengthening families. This is a full time position with an anticipated work schedule of 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. The State of Nevada and DCFS offer an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), accrual of 15 days of annual and 15 days of sick leave, 11 paid holidays and no city, county, state or social security tax.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.

    Appointments to positions in this class require successful completion of a written examination.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
