Quality Assurance Specialists design and implement a comprehensive quality assurance program encompassing clinical and related disciplines at a mental health hospital, residential care facility or community-based program or service for individuals with intellectual disabilities who may also have significant physical and/or mental health issues [problems], rehabilitation facility, or a clinic which provides outpatient medical and psychological services, or the medical system for the Department of Corrections.

Lake's Crossing Center (LCC) a maximum security forensic facility is recruiting for Quality Assurance Specialist 2 position. The mission of the agency is to provide forensic mental health services to mentally disordered offenders referred by the court system for evaluation of their competency to stand trial and/or treated to restore competency. Incumbent will be working an innovative variable schedule, with overtime after 40 hours per week. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, human development, special education, health science, public health, or other behavioral or social science and two years of experience, which included one year of experience providing client services in a human services field and one year of performing program evaluation, quality assurance/improvement, and/or utilization review activities for a human services program; OR a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the majors listed above and two years of experience performing program evaluation, quality assurance/improvement, and/or utilization review activities for a human services program; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |

Pursuant to NRS 632, a bachelor's degree from a school of professional nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing is equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |

This position requires statewide travel. |

Experience applying and interpreting Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service and Health Care Quality and
Compliance standards is required. |
