The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
*THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.* Nevada State College located in Henderson, NV is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant III in the Financial Aid Office. This position will provide administrative support to the Office of Financial Aid, including the Director and six additional professional staff members, will coordinate several major program areas including loan default management, financial literacy, consumer information disclosures, work-study hiring, provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty & staff and other duties as assigned. In general, Administrative Assistants perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties such as maintaining records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; and budget monitoring. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
