Right-of-Way Agents appraise, acquire, relocate, clear, and manage real property for the State and, as requested, its political subdivisions.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located in the Right-of-Way Division, in Carson City. Incumbent will perform duties for project activities in southern Nevada to include: coordinating projects with division and department management, legal counsel, and Local Public Agencies; right-of-way project management; developing policies and procedures; and overseeing the division's budgetary process. Monthly travel to southern Nevada will be required to meet with Local Public Agencies and provide oversight on right-of-way activities conducted by agencies using federal highway funding for their projects. This position will also be responsible for supervision of subordinates in the disciplines of appraisal, acquisition, relocation, and property management. Supervision will include employee evaluations, development of work performance standards, and disciplinary processes.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, real estate, mathematics or related field and four years of progressively responsible professional experience in right-of-way operations directly applicable to the position being filled; OR four years of experience as a Right-of-Way Agent II and/or two years as a Right-of-Way Agent III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |

This position requires acquisition and/or relocation experience with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, as amended (Uniform Act) on projects funded by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). |

This position requires experience interpreting right-of-way plans, design plans, and/or construction plans. |
|
This position requires travel from Carson City to southern Nevada. |
