JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Under the direction of the Chair for the Nevada Commission on Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV), the OHV Executive Secretary performs administrative, organizational, outreach and grants duties to support the Commission in its daily activities.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This position is located with the Nevada Off-Highway Vehicle Commission (OHV) and is a part-time position at .51 FTE. There is flexibility in choosing a work schedule, but will require consistency once selected. The position will perform routine to complex administrative, organizational, and financial related work in support of the Commission. Duties will include serving as a primary, day-to-day contact for in providing OHV related information; monitoring a complex grant and financial assistance award program which would include monitoring of grantees for compliance with the terms and conditions of grant agreements and confirming expenditures against the grant budget; ensuring all grant reporting requirements are met, grant-funded activities are delivered on time, and funds are managed appropriately; conducting audits to monitor adherence to special conditions stipulated in grant agreements; ensuring proper closeout of grant agreements, including the completion and/or receipt of all project deliverables, and reconciliation of the grant's ending financial position. This position will be responsible for regularly reporting compliance issues, risks and challenges that arise with grantees and projects to the Commission and offers solutions accordingly.
This position may be required to attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, community relations, communications or closely related field and one year of experience which included assisting in grants development and monitoring, interpreting complex laws and regulations, composing written and oral communications between managers and program clientele, maintaining records, and coordinating special events; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible experience performing duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Notes
At the direction of the Commission, incumbent may be required to successfully complete a State grants management, purchasing and/or certified contract manager or monitor class within one year of appointment.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
