The Position
Incumbents acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities and gain experience in a specialized information technology area such as systems administration, network administration, database administration, or applications analysis and development.
Under close supervision of a higher-level IT professional, incumbents acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities and gain experience in a specialized information technology area such as systems administration, network administration, database administration, or applications analysis and development. Incumbents perform a variety of IT-related duties as trainees.
This position is located in Carson City. The incumbent will under-fill an IT Professional II. Incumbents in this position will train to perform duties as follows: journey level application developer for the Department's various applications. The incumbents duties will also involve working on Tickets or PSR from the Department's Expedited List, Top Ticket List and Track Priority List and Remedy Lists; coordinate program changes with other Tracks; monitor changes for any abnormalities once in Production and provide the technical support to resolve such conditions; provide technical and user support to diagnose and resolve all applications issues; and provide technical support to other members in the track.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field; OR two years of relevant technical experience equivalent to an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
    Statewide travel is required.
