The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Lake's Crossing Center, a maximum security forensic facility/Psychiatric Hospital for Mentally Disordered Offenders in Sparks, Nevada is recruiting for a part-time Psychiatric Caseworker 2 position. The position will work with clients who are granted conditional release and are returning to the community but remain under the supervision of Lake's Crossing. Additionally, the position will assist with skills groups and individual skills training for inpatient and outpatient competency restoration, provide case management services and coordination with community agencies, court services and the courts, and perform other duties as assigned.
This part-time position is physically located in Sparks, NV and will provide these services to clients in Northern Nevada under the supervision of the Social Work Department and LCC Agency Director. Individual with knowledge of the legal system are encouraged to apply. The position will work 20.24 hrs./week, during regular business hours. Note: Work schedule may be adjusted to meet agency needs.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required and is a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience providing direct client care and implementing treatment plan for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
    The position requires the ability to identify issue of daily living as applied to individual and family centered environments.
    Experience preparing and writing clear and concise reports related to client progress and status.
    Experience teaching and training individuals or groups of people with mental illness or developmental disability.
