Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action. This position is located in Carson City, NV. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, management and evaluation of the medical coverage policies and procedures for School Based Child Health Services, (viz, Part B of IDEA), Indian Health Programs, Therapies (viz, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy), and the supervision of the Applied Behavioral Analysis (autism) program. The incumbent will be required to research/ analyze federal/ state public laws/ regulations and other best practices. The position will have involvement with services for children that requires a level of knowledge in early childhood development, Individual Education Plans that will lend to the relationships with providers, policy development and oversight of critical services for School Based Health and Applied Behavior Analysis. The incumbent will be be required to manage multiple tasks in an independent manner.
