The Position
Business Process Analysts apply an in-depth knowledge of the agency's program areas to define and implement a solution to a given problem that requires an individually tailored response for end-user requirements.
Under limited supervision, incumbents perform the full range of journey level duties described in the series concept. Incumbents may serve as a leadworker as assigned.
Business Process Analyst II's apply recognized data processing concepts to business process plans and analyses; develops work/data flow diagrams that illustrate and describe functional processes of the online system including identification of required interfaces to external systems/entities; document business and functional requirements for proposed projects; documents and reviews system test results to assess the accuracy and completeness of application code; monitors quality assurance using metrics related to the online system; train staff on the use of the system/software either individually or in a classroom setting; and consult with programmers regarding the technical requirements, logic, and deficiencies of programs. Under supervision, the incumbent will participate in the business process analysis of how to streamline cross-agency business processes into the SilverFlume Nevada's Business Portal online system. Incumbent will work with cross-agency teams to analyze and document online system workflows, write business requirements specifications for the online systems interactions, user stories and/or use cases, develop risk assessments, conduct project planning, develop test plans and test cases, conduct online system testing, train customer service and train-the-trainer team members on the online system, and communicate online system changes to identified stakeholders as required. Provide Tier 3 customer support to triage customer service issues that have been escalated from the agency teams to SilverFlume. Track and monitor Customer Service-related issues in a central defect tracking tool, and resolve issues that may be a business or training issue before sending on to SilverFlume technical team. Applicants selected for interview will be required to provide transcripts for all education beyond high school.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, management information systems, or other disciplines related to the assignment and two years of professional experience in a related program area analyzing and interpreting program laws, regulations, policies and procedures, which included one year of experience applying recognized data processing concepts to business process planning and analyses; OR one year of experience as a Business Process Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    This position is subject to call-out or call-back.
    Statewide travel is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience writing business requirement specifications for an online system.
    Experience writing test plan and test cases for an online system.
