The Position
Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Under the direct clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist, incumbents perform the duties described in the series concept in a trainee capacity. Incumbents may be automatically progressed to Licensed Psychologist I upon receipt of licensure as a psychologist in the State of Nevada
This post-doctoral position, Psychological Assistant, is an excellent entry into the field of mental health. Through the oversight of a licensed supervising psychologist, this position provides psychological services to inpatient and outpatient teams serving individuals who are severely mentally ill. The incumbent will provide assessment and evaluation which may involve initiation of certification for admission to the Rapid Stabilization Unit or inpatient unit. Psychologists at Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health (NNAMHS) provide extensive outpatient psychiatric treatment services. The incumbent will be required to document progress notes in the electronic medical record. The incumbent may be called upon to participate with multi-disciplinary committees to improve treatment services at NNAMHS. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Doctorate in Psychology and an approved internship agreement with the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Psychological Assistants must maintain an approved internship with the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners as a condition of continuing employment.
    A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
