The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) has Clinical Social Worker II opportunities at our Desert Willow Treatment Center (DWTC) located in Las Vegas, NV. DWTC is a 58-bed youth hospital accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations that provides mental health treatment for children age 12 to 17. DWTC serves children that are severely at-risk, many of whom have active suicidal and homicidal ideation, and serves those with maladaptive sexual behaviors. The Clinical Social Worker II is an essential participant on the Trans-disciplinary Treatment Team with the Senior Psychiatrist, Psychiatric Caseworker II, Psychiatric Nurse II, and Psychologist. These positions are integral to the presentation of treatment, and determining service needs and treatment planning. Responsibilities include providing direct care services to patients on the acute and residential units at DWTC; coordinate admissions; psychosocial assessments, 90 day reviews and treatment plans; conducting individual, family and group therapy. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. These positions are full time with an anticipated work schedule of Monday- Friday 8 am - 5pm, that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
    Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
    Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
