The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Seasonal, full time vacancies as they may occur
Statewide.
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation
of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Positions perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation and wildlife ecology. Most positions are of a 3 month duration over the summer months, working four 10 hour days in the field and camping at remote location sites on the workdays.
The divisions that have the current seasonal openings include Fisheries Management, Game Management, Wildlife Diversity, and Habitat (Wildlife
Management Areas and Wildlife Water Development).
Some positions may require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The locations that are currently being recruited for include Reno, Fallon, Winnemucca, Yerington (Mason Valley), Elko, Ely, Boulder City, Panaca, Las Vegas, Overton, and Wildlife Management areas near Hiko and Lund.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource
conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
