The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Lake's Crossing Center is a maximum security forensic facility/psychiatric hospital for Mentally Disordered Offenders, located in Sparks, Nevada. We have an opening for a Clinical Social Worker II. Our primary focus of treatment is to provide competency evaluation and restoration for court ordered clients. However, we also to provide treatment and monitoring for client's who are adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and non-restorable clients; who are committed to the Division by the courts. Duties include participating on a multidisciplinary treatment team, completing social history assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, coordinating and communicating with the courts and officers of the courts, and completing competency evaluations regarding misdemeanor level charges, for both inpatient and outpatient clients. Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. However hours may vary and include evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the agency.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
    Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
    Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires experience providing direct client care and implementing treatment plan for individual with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
