Auditors conduct audits on accounts, records, activities, operations and/or internal controls of individuals, business organizations, State agencies or other government jurisdictions subject to State taxation or regulation to ensure compliance with State and federal rules and regulations and legal requirements and/or proper safeguarding of agency funds.

This position performs specialized duties for the Medical Marijuana Program and the program organization. The incumbent will conduct inspections of medical marijuana establishments for compliance with the rules and regulations of the Medical Marijuana Program, identify violations, conduct investigations as needed, document results and prepare report of findings. Examples of areas for inspection include security, adherence to restrictions regarding controlled access to restricted areas, storage of marijuana products, transporation, chain of custody of Medical Marijuana and disposal of Medical Marijuana. Review facility policies and procedures, quality assurance programs, and patient records, to determine whether product services are being provided in accordance with applicable standards and physicians' orders.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in accounting and one year of professional level auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis; OR one year of experience comparable to an Auditor I in Nevada State service; OR graduation from high school or an equivalent education and four years of auditing or accounting experience involving analyzing financial information and making recommendations based upon that analysis and six semester credit hours in accounting from an accredited institution; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. NOTE: Minimal post-secondary coursework of six units in beginning accounting is required.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
This position requires moderate travel.
Transcripts of college credits are required.
