The Position
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist's perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
UNLV Facilities Management is seeking a HVACR Specialist 1. This position will maintain, repair, install, and operate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment. Responsibilities include testing water systems, keeping test records, and interacting with the water treatment supplier and water treatment consultant. The position will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment rated up to 480 volt, 3 phase. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in both HVACR systems and treated water systems. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM TO 5:00 PM. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Skills Required
    Incumbent must become Asbestos Certified within probation period.
