Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
This position is a Software Developer (.Net). with the Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) located in Carson City. You must also be conversant with all phases of software development lifecycle including requirements collection by conducting interviews, examining existing data systems, or similar research methods, developing prototypes, implementation of software modules, regular reviews with the user group, writing design documents and user manuals, deployment and testing of software systems. You will be involved in software projects individually or in a team environment. The projects will range from small to moderate in complexity.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Experience in ASP.NET web application development, SQL Server or another relational database system development, SQL, T-SQL or similar database programming language. |

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
