Community Based Instructors conduct a variety of outreach educational programs to individuals and/or groups of people in a variety of community settings, which may include schools, civic and senior centers, camps and other meeting facilities.
-- The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, Washoe County is recruiting for a part-time Community Based Instructor 2 located in Reno, Nevada. Primary responsibility is to assist with the preparation and delivery of nutrition education programs at various community locations. Duties include scheduling, preparing and delivering educational lessons; shopping for program supplies; collecting and entering data in an established database; and assisting other team members as requested. The position keeps extensive confidential grant required records such as attendance, enrollment, lessons presented, nutritional snacks served and supplies purchased. At times the position will be called upon to offer conflict resolution to children and families. The incumbent will be working collaboratively with diverse audiences such as school teachers and staff, food service administration, and students. Upon hire, Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) ethics training certification is required per the UNR Institutional Review Board.
-- This part-time position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The work schedule is a 30 hour work-week, Monday-Friday, variable schedule determined by the needs of the programs. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
