The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Clinical Social Worker III's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. Lake's Crossing Center, a maximum security forensic facility/Psychiatric Hospital for Mentally Disordered Offenders in Sparks, Nevada is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker 3 position. The position is responsible for the Social Work Department and assists LCC Director with projects and administration. Duties include overseeing the delivery of professional services, ensuring proper staff coverage, developing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, program guidelines and agency policy; providing supervision for professional and support staff; and participating in therapeutic community meetings. The position also provides direct client care by ensuring that LCC clients receive appropriate social service intervention, including private or public resources and mental health aftercare, and performs other duties as assigned.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers, and one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
Special Notes
    Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
    Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Additional Position Criteria
    Applicants must have experience providing direct client care and implementing treatment plan for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
    Applicants must have experience in educating and training individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
    Applicants must have experience preparing and writing clear and concise reports related to client progress and status.
