The Position
Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS). Agency positions may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location and any shift. This position is initially being assigned to the Assisted Outpatient Treatment team located at East Las Vegas Outpatient Clinic - 1785 E, Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89104. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program. Work responsibilities include providing psychological assessment and consultations using a wide range of instruments, developing behavioral intervention strategies, group and individual psychotherapy. Will also provide crisis intervention, help develop safety plan recommendations for patients, and conduct patient interviews. Emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that leads to self-sufficiency. Ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. Incumbent will work an innovative variable schedule and are exempt from overtime. Incumbent must also demonstrate forensics experience through training and work history; and must be able to pass additional background clearances for local jails. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting.
Special Requirements
    Licensed Psychologist I's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires experience working with individuals in a forensic setting such as a jail, prison or provided counseling or assessments for individuals in an outpatient setting committed with probation or parole.
    Must be able to pass additional background clearances for local jails.
