The Position
The position is located at Lake Tahoe State Park, near Incline Village, NV. The incumbent performs maintenance functions at all management areas including Sand Harbor, Spooner Lake/backcountry, Cave Rock and Van Sickle. Incumbents work directly under the direction of the Facility Supervisor III and may serve as a lead-worker to semi-skilled or general staff. The position will participate in the area of facility management by planning projects; inspecting work completed by contractors for compliance with plans and specifications; and provide information regarding facility needs and estimated cost for inclusion in the development of the facility budget. Incumbents may be required to work various hours and shifts including holidays and weekends. This position requires knowledge of structures, facilities, systems and equipment; National, state and local buildings and fire codes; and standard practices, methods, material, tools and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades as related to the maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds and equipment. The incumbent must have the ability to conduct inspections and recognize maintenance and repair needs; prepare work orders, requisition and specification; read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and electrical schematics; plan projects, sketch work drawings and layout materials; estimate the materials and time required to complete projects; operate various diagnostic and testing equipment; and safely perform a variety of skilled work including: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and welding.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Four years of progressively responsible experience in two or more of the major building or mechanical trades and two years of journey level experience which included responsibility for performing a variety of repair and maintenance activities, laying out jobs, ordering material and the operation of heavy equipment; OR two years of journey level experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist I in Nevada State service which included experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Specialist II which included experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
    This position may be subject to call back.
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions at the Division of State Parks may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A valid drivers license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A valid commercial driver's license is required within 12 months of the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A Water Distribution Operator I certification is required within 12 months of the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
