Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time IT Technician 5. The position is a shared appointment between the Departments of Art and Music. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of all equipment related to teaching and research in the Digital Media Studio in the Department of Art (80%) and the Electronic Music Studio of the Department of Music (20%). This includes the LAN, all software, desktop systems, networking, laser and inkjet printers, laser cutter, 3D printers, C&C router, flatbed and 3D scanners, basic shop tools, electronics workshop, digital video, cameras, audio recorders and facilitating electronic key code access system for Media Laboratories; purchasing; and updating the Digital Media area and Department of Art websites, and recruiting, training, and supervising student workers.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday. This position may require working evenings and weekends; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
