Equipment Mechanics maintain, repair, and modify fleet equipment comprised of a variety of light, medium, and heavy automotive and maintenance equipment, landscape equipment, computerized testing equipment, and diesel-fueled electric power generators.
--Great Basin College Garage Shop has an opening for an Equipment Mechanic 2 located in Elko, Nevada. The position reports to the Dean of Business and Technology. Responsibilities include vehicle and equipment routine maintenance and complex repairs and records maintenance in a specialized computer maintenance program. The incumbent is required to fabricate parts and equipment used by campus departments to make repairs by: drawing plans, estimating and purchasing materials, and final development to include welding, painting and assembly. The position will supervise student workers, assist CTE program instructors, and maintain tool room and tools, equipment and parts inventory. This position requires: frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling over 90 pounds.
--The typical work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program; OR completion of the Equipment Mechanic-In-Training program in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
