The Position
Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is responsible to develop and implement work programs for the Federal Aid Sport Fish Restoration grant and State fish program to include angler creel surveys, sport fish population inventories, aquatic habitat improvement projects, recovery and monitoring of Federally endangered razorback suckers and bonytail chub, annual reporting, fishing season and stocking recommendations, budget development; and administrative duties. Develops and implements cooperative projects and programs with Arizona Game and Fish Department, Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service and other partners. Additionally coordinates with local County Wildlife Advisory Boards, State Wildlife Commission, Nevada and Arizona universities, and local sportsmen's groups.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, wildlife management or closely related field and three years of professional wildlife management experience such as conducting research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; development and implementation of project proposals for fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects; OR two years of experience as a Biologist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Working on occasional nights and/or weekends may be required.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
