JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position will have program focus to accelerate NRCS Farm Bill Conservation Program participation and the delivery of conservation technical assistance that are of mutual conservation interest to both NDOW and NRCS. This program is a cooperative undertaking between both NDOW and NRCS to provide financial and technical assistance in wildlife habitat improvement activities to landowners, residents, and organizations within the State of Nevada. The combined resources of NDOW and NRCS will result in the
enhancement, restoration, and protection of upland and wetland wildlife habitat along with forest and range resources in the state. This position will meet with private landowners to explain, promote, and prepare proposals for potential funding programs. Also the position will facilitate interagency assistance between NDOW and NRCS to utilizes the local expertise of NDOW biologists who
specialize in specific species and habitats, as appropriate to specific project proposals.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, wildlife management or closely related field and three years of professional wildlife management experience such as conducting research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; development and implementation of project proposals for fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects; OR two years of experience as a Biologist II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working on occasional nights and/or weekends may be required.
Specialized experience may be required and will be identified at the time of recruitment.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
