The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
The DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Grants & Projects Analyst II. This position is responsible for ongoing implementation, monitoring, and evaluation/review of newly awarded federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA) grant and will provide support and assistance to the grant team in evaluating program effectiveness. This will include developing data collection tools to capture meaningful data and then providing analysis of outcomes to determine whether the Division is achieving required outcomes. In addition, this position will be responsible for developing the initial draft grant monitoring reports for federal funding authorities. The position will be assigned to research, develop and recommend long-range plans and projects pursuant to the grant's guidelines and will provide technical assistance to both the grant team and other stakeholders with whom the Division will partner to achieve articulated outcomes. This position may also be assigned auditing responsibilities in the event any grant funding is provided to sub-grantees/sub-contractors. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.*** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. Positions are full-time with a regular work schedule that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff committed to building strong communities through strengthening families.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and two years of professional grants experience which included writing grant applications to secure program funding; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, developing and implementing long-range grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; and monitoring and enforcing grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst I in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
    Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
