The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located in Las Vegas, within the Real Estate Division. The position provides support for the Projects Section and will be responsible for assisting in the review of permit registration requirements for Chapters 119 & 645 of NRS/NAC applications, renewals, amendments and other requests from residential builders, owners and developers. The position interacts with the real estate brokers, builders, owners, investors and other members of the residential building community. This position will assist the Projects Section relating to NRS/NAC 119B registration requirements. This position requires experience with the managing and coordination of spreadsheets for completion of issuance of permits within the statutory timeframe for approval. This position requires strong computer skills with emphasis on research capabilities, spreadsheets, word processing, Outlook and Microsoft WORD. Per NRS 645.130 requirements: The incumbent cannot hold an active real estate or other professional license issued by the Real Estate Division.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Must have clerical work experience with real estate builders, investors, owners, developers, title companies, or legal firms."

The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
