The Position
Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.

Mental Health Counselors provide group, family, couple, and individual therapy to clients of all ages; and targeted case management servicrs while ensuring that delivered services are consistent with State and 3rd Party Standards of Care. Conduct triage, screenings and Intake Assessments with accompanying evaluation documents. Conduct and maintain eligibility determinations and prior authorizations as required. Develop, implement and maintain Treatment Plans; discharge and aftercare planning; and participation in MDT teams as needed. Provide ER/crises services, and complete required documentation for voluntary/involuntary hospitalization as needed. Incombents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently, with an understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA, and are either carrying a current Nevada State License as an LCSW, MFT or CPC or are eligable to obtain said license. This position requires basic knowledge and understanding of Microsoft products including Word/Excel/Outlook, and an ability to learn and master electronic clinical information systems inclding AVATAR. This position is located at Elko Counseling and Supportive Services (ECSS) in Elko, Nevada. The mission of ECSS is to provide healing support for consumers diagnosed with a mental health disorder. ECSS provides an atomosphere of innovative thinking, treamwork, dedication, and genuine positive regard for both clients and staff.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and two years of post-master's degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Licensure or certification as a Mental Health Counselor, Certified Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, or Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor issued by the appropriate licensing or certification authority is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
