The Position
Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.
The Nevada Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for multiple positions in the following areas; Carson City, Fernley, Winnemucca, and Pahrump. The Early Childhood Treatment Program provides individual and family therapy services to severely emotionally disturbed children, birth to seven years of age, and their families in an office and/or home-based setting. This position also provides intensive clinical case management in a wraparound service delivery model facilitating family-driven child and family teams. Must be able to formulate psychosocial assessments and DC:0-3/DSM IV diagnoses as well as create and implement individualized treatment plans.*** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. The positions are full-time with a regular work schedule that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other govenmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff that are committed to building strong communities through strengthening families.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above.

    Some positions require specialized training and experience working with specific client populations
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.

    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
