Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This full-time position is assigned to the Department of Administration, Human Resource Management, in Carson City, Nevada. The position is located in the Compensation, Classification and Recruitment section. The position performs duties relating to classification assignments which include conducting job evaluations and comparative analysis of individual classified positions and recommending determinations, conducting class specification review and maintenance studies, and creating new class specifications. Duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating and conducting interviews with State employees and subject matter experts, determining classifications utilizing a broad spectrum of occupational groups and classifications, preparing written analyses, presenting decisions to incumbents and agency personnel, defending decisions before governing bodies, conducting recruitments, and other duties as assigned. A writing skills assessment will be conducted as part of the interview process.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
