Community Based Instructors conduct a variety of outreach educational programs to individuals and/or groups of people in a variety of community settings, which may include schools, civic and senior centers, camps and other meeting facilities.
--The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, Northern Area/ Lander County is recruiting for a part-time Community Based Instructor 2 in Battle Mountain, Nevada. The position serves as the Lander County 4-H Program Coordinator. Under supervision of the Extension Educator, the position works with office staff and other youth related appropriate entities to ensure 4-H programs and curriculum align with youth related goals. The incumbent will identify, revise, coordinate, instruct and assist leaders with appropriate curriculum for 4-H youth development programs; recruit, organize and coordinate the work of 4-H volunteers and leaders; provide training related to program activities, operations and requirements; schedule and oversee work performed by volunteers; solicit evaluation data from program participants to develop reports and modify curriculum; maintain program records, and other relevant duties as assigned.
--The typical work schedule is a variable 25 hours work-week with occasional nights and weekends; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
