The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME. Perform R2T4 calculations (official and unofficial) and MPR each semester to ensure compliance to Federal regulations. Performs the calculations in MyCSN and COD systems. Provides reporting documentation to Student Financials, the Feds through COD, and SFS in MyCSN. Make recommendations to improve the process campus wide and reduce CSN's financial commitment. Ensure compliance on A-133 audits and Federal Program Reviews. Create and implement Loan Default Prevention strategy to reduce CSN's loan cohort default rate. Ensure compliance to Federal Regulations regarding Loan Entrance Counseling and Loan Exit Counseling for Federal student loan borrowers. Contact students regarding delinquent loan accounts to prevent student loan default rate from increasing. Creative strategies and processes to lower default rate at CSN. Team effectiveness, communication, and professionalism. Work at part of collaborative team within the Financial Aid Office. Team player. Effective communication. Must communicate in a professional and courteous manner with internal and external customers. Employee is expected to report to work on time, take allotted breaks and lunch hours. Employee may be asked to work overtime when necessary. Provide explanations and customer service to students regarding R2T4 or MPR calculations and repayment options. Customer service to students regarding loan default prevention strategies implemented at CSN. Clear and concise written communications to students and co-workers. Training and other duties as assigned. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of an extensive background check.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
