Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution. Under supervision, incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation in areas that include vocational counseling and guidance, eligibility determination, case and expenditure management, and development and implementation of service plans that help diminish, eliminate or accommodate disability-related barriers to employment. Requirements leading to classification as a Rehabilitation Counselor II must be met within 36 months of hire. This position is located at the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in one of our Las Vegas Vocational Rehabilitation offices.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree related to the field of employment and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic graduate program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
