The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Care Financing and Policy Information Services-Contract Management Unit Management Analyst II Carson City This position will assist with the management of contracts/vendors and business agreements on behalf of the agency. Duties include, but are not limited to, researching, planning, directing and managing activities in support of the State's Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) contract, analyzing the impact of federal/state requirements on the MMIS and other peripheral systems and writing documents including, but not limited to, Request for Proposal, contracts, contract amendments, and funding documents such as Technology Investment Requests and Advance Planning Documents. The incumbent will participate in various work groups and may be required to give presentations and/or travel on occasion in order to meet the needs of the assignment.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and two years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Appointment to any level in this series requires successful completion of a written examination.
    Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 6 years of experience, 2 years of paraprofessional experience and 4 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    Contract management experience including experience obtaining tracking and/or reporting for federal funding is required for this position.
    Experience managing projects for compliance to regulations and policy is required.
