The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 4 for Facilities Planning and Construction. The incumbent will be responsible for providing accounting, budgeting, reporting and fiscal assistance for 24 Facilities Maintenance Services (FMS) accounts. This assistance includes maintenance of the accounts and accounting records, preparing monthly and annual reports, preparing and processing accounts receivable and payable documents, preparing journal vouchers, reconciling P-cards, tracking asset and sensitive equipment and the monthly reconciliation of each account to the general ledger.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires experience with account payable/receivable programs.
    This position requires intermediate experience working with Microsoft Excel.
    This position requires experience working in a fast pace collaborative environment.
    This position requires experience providing guidance to staff on budgets, rules, and regulations.
    This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
