Sales & Promotion Representatives plan and direct the promotion and sales of books, magazines and merchandise sales catalogs, memberships, public programs, promotional items and/or services.
Sales and Promotion Representatives plan and direct the promotions of fundraising.
This position is located at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City.
The Sales and Promotion Representative II assists fundraising for Museum Dedicated Trust Funds at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City, within the Division of Museums and History, Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs. The position developes strategic plans, budgets, and reports. The position supervises volunteers and coordinates fundraising with the private nonprofit Friends of the Nevada State Museum. The position assists sales and promotion of medallions minted on Coin Press No. 1. The position assists fundraising events, donations, and sponsorships. The position gives greatest emphasis on developing individual, family, and coorporate memberships.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, advertising, English, journalism, public relations or related field and one year of experience in the sales, marketing and promotion of a product line which included writing and designing promotional materials; organizing promotional events and the use of direct mail techiques; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent education and three years of experience as described above; OR one year of experience at the Sales and Promotions Representative I level in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
