Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

This recruitment is for vacancies at Desert Regional Center in Las Vegas in the Community Adult and Children's Services Department. The Psychiatric Caseworker II is responsible for overseeing case management services of 45-55 individuals with intellectual disabilities and related conditions; such as, Autism, Seizures, Cerebral Palsy, etc. who live at home with their families or who are living in a supported living arrangement in the community. Incumbent must possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Incumbent will perform a broad range of duties; developing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of client treatment activities to facilitate achievement of identified goals for the specific developmental and behavioral management of each client in the least restrictive environment possible. This is the journey level in the series. This position requires travel throughout Las Vegas and Henderson. Speaking and writing Spanish and English fluently is a requirement of this position.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
