The Position
Prison Industries Supervisors manage, plan, organize and supervise operation(s) of Prison Industries program(s) and ensure their profitable operation.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position will plan, organize and supervise the operation of prison industry production programs. The incumbent will supervise the performance of prison inmates in producing items and services for sale to other government and private entities; provide supervision including selection, work assignment and review, training and discipline; maintain inventory levels of necessary raw materials based upon delivery schedules, product and vendor history, and sales reports. Supervisors establish work safety and security procedures such as tool and hazardous material control systems to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the work unit and the security of all inmates. This position will participate in planning and designing new products and services by providing technical expertise regarding cost efficient material usage, quality standards and production capabilities. They will also maintain accounting records and prepare required reports including customer billing, supply purchases, shipping receipts, and inmate payroll.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or closely related field and two years of supervisory experience in a business environment producing manufactured goods or providing services including setting production/work schedules, recordkeeping, and ensuring the availability of required materials, supplies, equipment and tools; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of experience as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
